Duplicating an existing module or modifying an off the shelf module is a lot easier than building a course from scratch. A blank “new course” canvas is difficult to approach, compared to something pre-existing that you can improve/customise/fully change to your needs and liking.
Both with duplicating an existing module and with building a new module, you will need to speak to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) before you build pages or edit content, so that they can ensure that all the properties and information are correct and publish the module for use.
Duplicating a module:
1. Click on the Management Console at the top of your portal page
2. Click on Content Management on the right side of the page
3. Type out a keyword that can be found in the title or code of the module, click on Module and Search
4. Click on the code of the module you would like to work on. This will take you to the properties of that module
5. On the right side of the Properties page, click on Duplicate
6. Insert a new distinctive code (remember that only you can see this, the users cannot), choose any content domain and skin (these will be adjusted by your CSM before you start editing) and click on the copy button
7. You will be taken to the new module. You now need to contact your CSM so that they can make sure all properties are correct. They will let you know when you can start making changes to your module.
Building a new module from scratch:
1. Click on the Management Console at the top of your portal page
2. Click on Content Management on the right side of the page
3. On the right side of the page, click on Add a new module
4. Click on Create blank module
5. Insert the following details and click on Create module button:
Title: A title that can be viewed by the users
Code: An identifying code that will not be viewed by the users
Domain: Choose any. This will be adjusted by your CSM before you start building content
Skin: Choose any. This will be adjusted by your CSM before you start building content
Publish type: SCORM (republishing required)
Category: Uncategorised. This will be adjusted by your CSM before you start building content
Create Learning Path: Do NOT tick
6. You will be taken to the new module. You now need to contact your CSM so that they can make sure all properties are correct. They will let you know when you can start making changes to your module.
