One of the options in the gifts and hospitality register is for the approver to ask for additional information about the submission. The person who made the submission should receive an email notification along with an alert on the My Submission tab within the Registers page or category.

The status of any submission needing additional information from the submitter will have the status 'Information Requested'
To review the information request and respond, select the appropriate submission and click on the Comments tab.
To respond with the additional information, add the details into the open text field and click on the +Comment button. This will send the submission back for approval.
All comments added to the submission will be captured under the comments tab.
