Each learning path has the availability to be used as learning path carousel item. It is an effective way of displaying multiple images or content in a single space. It not only helps in saving screen space, but also encourages users to focus on important training and improves the overall visual appeal of your home page. Carousel items can be static images, Link to learning path with activities, take a user to a specific URL or link to another page in the portal.
The learning path will need to be assigned to a user to show on their home page. This article will show you how adjust the carousel settings for All domains and specific domains walk - for example adjusting the width, height and speed.
- Click on Management Console at the top of your homepage and Click on Content Management from the right-hand-side menu called ‘Management Console’
- Click on the option for 'Learning Path carousel' from the Content Management menu
The admin view will show a preview of all learning path carousel items, regardless of whether they have been assigned to users or not. Click on Edit carousel default settings.
You will see a summary of each user domain. You will see a option for All domains. In the Settings used column you will see True if a specific domain has its own settings turned on. To change the options for all domains or a specific domain click on Edit.
You can then adjust
Carousel width - Adjust to a size in px - default is 100% to adapt to portal layout
Carousel height - Adjust to a size px
Padding - choose peset padding sizes from the drop down. Increasing the padding with show a border around the carousel
Player Class - Choose between none, small, medium or large rounded corners for the container
Image Class - Choose between none, small, medium or large rounded corners for the image
Hide on mobile? - Choose to show/hide on mobiles and tablets
Dots - Choose to show or/hide carousel indicators which display under the carousel images
Show Arrows - Choose to show or/hide the previous/next arrows which display on the left and right of the carousel image
Arrows Colour (hex) - Input the hex code for the arrow colour
Fade in? - Choose to turn on/off fade effect between slides
Fade in speed? - choose the speed of slide transitions from pre-set options
Infinite Loop- Choose to turn on/off loop
Autoplay - Turn on/off auto play. If turned off user will need to click play button to start effect
