You may need to search for user accounts to do various things like:
- Assigning content
- Updating assignments
- Updating user attributes
- Archiving users
To search for users go to Management console and click User management. You can use a Basic search or an advanced search to find the user accounts that you are looking for in your search results
Basic Search
Search for users with a Keyword. The value typed in this field will be searchable within key user attributes such as First name, Last name, Email, Username or Emp ID. This search is useful when you are searching for one or a small number of users.
As a default hitting search will search for that Keyword in all active user accounts and within all domains you have access to. Use the drop downs to choose whether to search all archived users only or All users or choose a domain to search in.
Clicking Search or hitting the return key on your keyboard will return your Search Results
Advanced search
Clicking on advanced search will allow you to use additional filters and search criteria. These options can be used in combination and alongside your basic search to find one or a group of users.
The options available to you are:
Attributes Click on the first user attribute.. drop down to select an attribute use for your search, then click on view all… to see the output/values associated with that attribute and the users in your selected domain(s). Select accordingly (hold Ctrl or Shift on your keyboard to make multiple selections) and click add selected values to filter.
If you wish to use a further attribute in your rule. Select the second user attribute.. dropdown those in a certain attribute, A third attribute can also be added. You can also insert date ranges to search for users based on their Date registered, Date Archived* and Hire date.
Audience groups - choose between two options 1) users who are in at least one of the selected audience groups 2) Users who are not in any of the selected audience groups. Use the search field to add selected audience groups. Use the Start date option to search between dates users were added to an audience group.
Learning Paths - Choose between 5 options 1) Users with at least one of the selected learning paths assigned 2) Users with at least one of the selected learning paths assigned and completed 3)Users with at least one of the selected learning paths assigned and overdue 4) Users with at least one of the selected learning paths assigned and failed 5) Users without any of the selected learning paths assigned
Use the search field to add selected learning paths. Use the category filters search for users assigned the selected learning paths to a specific category.
Events*
Choose between 3 options 1)Users who have attended at least one of the selected events 2) Users who are enrolled but have not attended at least one of the selected events 3) Users who are in scope but not enrolled in at least one of the selected events. Use the search field to add selected events and add date to search for sessions on a specific day.
Permissions
Choose between two options 1) Users with one of the selected roles 2) Users without any of the selected roles. Use the search field to select Roles.
Domain Access
Choose between two options 1) Users with one of more of the selected domains 2) Users without access to the selected domains. Use the search field to select domains.
